Pros and cons of Retro City Rampage DX app for iPhone and iPad

Retro City Rampage DX app good for

If only I could give 10 stars to this game... Its superlative. A jump in the past like the old GTA but much more cooler thanks to the unique retro style. It would be cool an online version in the near future and updates with events like the real GTA. Keep on!!! ❤️
Probs to the developer maybe the best free roam game on the appstore
It really is just an 8 bit GTA and that idea is great, its a good game but -a bit pricey -needs a little more content Other than that, its a good idea to buy
I played the game on a ps vita and loved it. So happy its for iOS now. Its a copy I actually own. I love the game so much I will keep it forever. But it should have a cloud save function
Well it is Awsome and the best I love it but it needs multiplayer stat then it is better than every mobile game ever
This is a great game and has good open map. It would be even better with multiplayer.

Some bad moments

The world is large and it runs well, but gunfights and melee fights are just button mashing that feels unsatisfactory and progression feels meaningless, as there are no unlocks or upgrades, as far as Ive found. The only thing I find fun in this game is running people over. Not very great.
I cant believe that most reviews dont mention how God awful the controls are. For this kind of game, controls are everything - play the PC version and feel the difference. I want a refund!
Ive been a long time owner of RCR on PC and I wanted to support the create here on iOS as well, but the controls for this iOS port is terrible. Having a virtual joystick was a bad move on the developers part. I just hope they patch it with an option to have fixed controls, like a d-pad. The vehicle controls are fine, as you can switch it to manual ( which gives you fixed buttons to pressed for steering and accelerating), I just wished they had done the same for regular movement. Movement and precision are two very important aspect of these kinds of games, in my opinion, and a virtual joystick hampers it greatly. An option to have it fixed to the screen wouldve been preferred at the least... Until the controls are updated I would suggest you hold back on this purchase. If not prepare for some frustrating moments...
Awesome gameplay, funny story, amazing retro-ness. The controllers were pretty smooth in my opinion. Great job!
Thank You Brian! I’ve had this game since its first release on Steam and GOG and have to say I’m a huge fan. The game plays great though I would recommend a mobile game controller if you have, or can afford one. If not, no worries for it’s pretty easy to grasp if you’ve played other games on smartphone that use V control like Slay, Goblin Sword, etc. You can also customize the controls to your liking in the options menu. I’ve played an hour of the game as of this post and must say I am truly satisfied, and have deleted a few games off my device. There are plenty of mini games in RCR alone that I’ll be focusing more on those over what’s just sitting around on my iPod 4. Btw, the game plays perfect on iPod 4! Welcoming news for those (including myself) who have yet to upgrade to iPod 5 or higher and milking the iPod 4 for what they can get when it comes to gaming. RCR arriving in the App Store unexpectedly is a total surprise and know this little gem will keep me busy for quite a while now that I can take it on the go. Thanks Brian!
Im so happy they finally made this for mobile! I bought the original on my 3ds and I love it. The controls are strange, yet you get used to them pretty quickly. The story and extras are amazing. Great job!
